New Parameter Identification Method for Supercapacitor Model

The paper introduces a straightforward procedure for estimating the electrical parameters of simple, but reasonably accurate, two-branches model supercapacitor (SC). equivalent circuit includes voltage and frequency dependence on SC’s capacitance, neglecting self-discharge phenomenon, so it is mainly devoted to short mid-term simulations suitable most industrial applications. estimation starts by analysing experimental data achieved common constant-current discharge test. Such are used build fitting function which compared with analytical solution numerical approximations evolution. Thus, initial estimated values obtained through simple relations optimised implementing least squares method. validated after an easy fast extraction optimal SC. Several tests involving commercial SC have been carried out in Simulink results against data. A good accuracy wide range charging/discharging cycles reported.
